Dr. Gavin Johnson was raised in Mantua, Utah and graduated from Box Elder High School. Following high school he earned his bachelors degree in biology and Spanish from USU then attended professional school at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. He excelled in optometry school, graduating as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa international Optometric Honor Society.
To complete his optometric education Dr. Johnson trained in the management of LASIK, PRK, and corneal cross-linking patients with Dr. Stan Teplick, a pioneer in the FDA approval of LASIK surgery. He then relocated to Nome, Alaska for a rotation with the Indian Health Service. There he provided eye care to the people of Nome and the remote villages of the Norton Sound, managing eye diseases of all kinds. Upon completion of his optometric training, Dr. Johnson worked for a number of years in private and commercial settings in Washington state and Alaska providing eye care to people of all ages. He is experienced in treating and managing eye infections and injuries, dry eye, corneal ulcers, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and provides the full scope of primary eye care. As a father to three boys Dr. Johnson enjoys volunteering as a wrestling coach as well as taking his sons fishing and hunting whenever possible. His wife Jade is also a Utah native, they met at Utah State University where she was scoring goals for the women’s soccer team. |

Carrie has been with the practice since 2010 and serves as Office Manager. She is a certified paraoptometric (CPO). Carrie has considerable experience in the optical arena. She is a guru when it comes to handling the complexities of insurance claims. She is also our HIPAA compliance officer. You will find her a delight to work with. Carrie provides professional business support for our office and is available to assist our patients with scheduling, registration and insurance/billing questions. She is dedicated to improving our patients' experience and will gladly assist you with all aspects of your visit. Her husband, Robbie, is the head football coach at Box Elder High School. Everyone will hear Carrie as she cheers for the Bees from the stands Should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to talk to Carrie.

Mayra has recently joined our practice after having relocated from southern California. She is fluent in Spanish and has previously worked in an ophthalmology practice
Mayra works as an assistant to Dr. Johnson. She assists with patient check in, initial examination pre-testing as well as some specialized testing procedures. She is skilled with diagnostic instruments including visual field analysis, retinal photography and ocular coherence tomography used in evaluation of various diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. |

Sara joined our practice in 2019. Sara is our lead laboratory optician. She is knowledgeable regarding the fabrication and layout of lenses assuring the Rx is properly ground and placed in your eyewear. She also functions part time as an assistant for Dr. Terry. Sara is our first hire with native Spanish speaking capability. We're excited to have her on our team!

Kelliann joined our practice in 2019. She has a pleasant and upbeat personality. She is often found teaching new contact lens wearers all they need to know about contacts. Kelliann is instrumental in performing a variety of administrative tasks including patient recall.
